When Is the Best Time to Exercise?

One of the most frequently asked questions about exercise is: "When is the best time of the day to exercise?"

There are many different opinions regarding the most appropriate time to exercise. Some say it's best to exercise right after you wake up, before you get caught up in your busy day; while others say there are advantages to exercising at the end of the day.

When Is the Best Time to Exercise?

Since we already know that getting physical activity at any time during the day is beneficial, it is more important to focus on making sure you are doing an exercise correctly and safely, than it is trying to identify the perfect time of day to do it.

In order to get the most benefit out of each type of exercise you do, you should first find out the appropriate technique, time, intensity, and duration that are required to ensure you meet your fitness goals.

To form a habit of exercising regularly, be sure to choose exercises that you enjoy. If you haven’t tried many types of exercise, you may want to take a few weeks to try different activities, and then continue with the ones that you have enjoyed most on a regular basis. Choose some activities that are easier to fit into your schedule to do during the week, leaving other more time-consuming ones for the weekend.

Keep in mind, sometimes it takes a couple of months to form a habit. As difficult as it may seem at first to exercise on a regular basis, if you stick with it, you will notice it gets easier with time.

Any time you can fit exercise into your daily routine is a great time for exercise! You will see and feel the benefits of it in no time at all, if you make it a regular part of day-to-day activities.
