A balanced diet is essential in maintaining good health and preventing diseases, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, and certain types of cancer, among others. Nutrition experts recommend following a diet high in fruits, vegetables, and whole-wheat cereals, as well as selecting low fat dairy products and lean meats. Having a varied diet will help your body get all the vitamins and minerals it needs to work properly. Besides, it is advisable to avoid high fat and high sugar products, such as certain types of snacks, regular sodas, and fried foods. It’s up to you… one small step at the time can make a huge difference later.


Another important aspect is exercise. Get up and get active! Take a break from the monotony of your daily routine! The recommendation for physical activity is to get at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise on most days of the week. The good news is you can also increase your physical activity level by making small changes, such as taking the stairs instead of using the elevator, parking further away to force yourself to walk, and working on the lawn, or taking the dog out for a walk. You can also go out for family walks or join a gym or sports club. If you don’t have much time, you may break your 30 minutes of exercise into three 10-minute sessions throughout the day.


What’s important is for you to keep in mind that establishing a healthy lifestyle is a process, and not something that happens all of a sudden. However, it is possible! And you will feel great as you notice the difference in how you feel. They key is to focus on your health and maintain a positive attitude. Soon, you will find that living a healthy lifestyle will not only be beneficial to you, but it will also benefit the people around you, because you will surely spread your vitality and energy around!
